Row 6 is Finished!

Here is what Tina and Josh's Blanket of Love looks like now that row 6 is done. With Christmas comming up fast I just hope that I can keep working on this as much as I really want to.

Thats my darling hubby, Scott, holding the one side of the blanket and my son Scotty is on the other side, but you can't see him in this picture.

Row 5 is done and row 6 is getting there

Here is a picture of the blanket so far, there are 5 complete rows done. I am still hoping that Tina and Josh will have the blanket by Christmas.

It looks like there may be some squares left over after the blanket is done. If so I am going to take a break from sewing for a bit, so that I can get a few things done around here, then I will sew up the remaining squares to make a lap blanket for Josh to use while he is sitting in his wheel chair. This way he will be surrounded by all of our Love, Faith, and Prayers 24 hours a day.

Thank you again to everyone who helped with the squares for this blanket, without you there would not be a Blanket of Love!

Row 4 is done and Row 5 is on its way

Well, its taken me a while, but I finally finished row 4 today. I've also started row 5. I don't know if you can see them, but the words LOVE and HOPE have been added to the sides. Wow this is going to be one nice blanket when it is finally done! I am keeping my fingers crossed that Josh and Tina will have it for Christmas.

Thank you again to all the members of the Love2Knit_Dishcloths group, without your love for our Tina and her son Josh this blanket would have never been anything but just a thought.

Row 3 is done!

Well I had to make a square to fit in to the last opening of the row. So I used the October 2006 KAL, which was Rhonda's Apple pattern, on size 9 needles and it fit just fine.

So now on to the next row!

All The Squares Are Here

It's official, all the squares from our group members are here! I just checked out the database and everyone is logged in as my receiving their squares. I still need to scan the last few puffies full of squares into the computer so that I can add pictures to this blog, but all the squares are here!

Now I finally get to start to sew and sew and sew all the squares together!

I want to send an extra special THANK YOU out to Cheryl C for doing the words FAITH, LOVE and PRAYER, as well as Dawn E for doing the word HOPE.

Each of these words will have a special place along the border of the blanket to remind Tina and Josh that not only do you need to keep them close to heart but that each stitch of each square was done with a lot of Faith, Love, Prayer and Hope for them.

My husband had suggested that since this blanket was a labor of love and since love is the center of all good that is done in the world that maybe I should place all of the Heart squares in the center.

My girlfriend had suggested that I put all the squares into a large box and just stick my hand in, without looking of course, and what ever way that God allows them to come out just go with that pattern and it would be a blanket with God's touch.

I just think that it is amazing when people that I know get philosophical about certain things and get some great ideas! Who knows, maybe it's God talking through them? I know that it's not for me to ignore such good ideas, so maybe I should just combine the two of them and do the blanket like that.

All I know is that no matter how this blanket will come together it will come together with LOVE, FAITH, PRAYER and a lot of HOPE for both Tina and Josh.

Hi Everyone,

First I want to THANK EVERYONE!

We as a group are making this blanket idea a reality and I know that Tina and Josh are going to be able to feel each and every "HUG" that we have put into it.

I am making three more requests from you all:

1) PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE if you are making a square PLEASE put as much info into the data base BEFORE you finish your square. Especially now that I will be trying to figure out the lay out for the blanket.

If you have ever made a patchwork blanket before than you know how much you need to know how many pieces of cloth you are going to be working with and the colors and patterns. If you have never made a patchwork piece let me tell you that this is actually the hardest part of making the blanket.

If I have say 4 Angel squares each a different color and figure okay I can use those in the center and then after I sew them together another Angel square comes in that Angel square will look real lonely all by it's self where ever I can fit it in.

So, PLEASE keep that database up to date.

2) PLEASE make each square a SEPERATE entry in the database. I have tried to straighten it out as best as I can, but please take a look at your entries if you had put more than one square in one entry and double check what I have tried to straighten out.

3) PLEASE use your REAL FIRST NAME in the first box of the database titled "Your Name", not your screen name or your e-mail address.

After all the squares are put together I will be printing out the database to include in the notebook so that Tina will be able to see how we all were involved with this blanket.

And if nobody minds I just might print out all of the e-mails in reference to the blanket to include in the book also. (but I'm not sure on this yet. any opinions on this idea will be greatly appreciated)

I'm sorry if this sounds like I'm being a bit demanding, but you really need to understand how much this will help me to put the blanket together.

God Bless You All For Your Big Hearts!

Happy knitting,
Jeanette
